Handel, Chaconne in G, Variation 9 and Variation 13 

A chaconne is a type of Baroque instrumental piece wherein a repeated harmonic pattern is treated to successive variations. This contextual listening contains excerpts from two different variations of Handel’s Chaconne (variations 11 and 12 are found earlier in this chapter). Both excerpts are in the same meter (^3 4) and key (G minor).
