Felix Mendelssohn (1809–1847), Overture to A Midsummer Night's Dream, op. 21

Many years after composing this overture, Mendelssohn wrote a number of additional pieces of "incidental music" for Shakespeare's play. The popular "Wedding March" from this suite is excerpted in Example 15-6.
