The majority of the chapter is devoted to excerpts that explore the entire octave, including both the leading tone and the subtonic (the lowered seventh scale degree in minor), which you practiced, also as a lower neighbor, in the chant examples from the previous chapter and as part of the various adaptations of the minor scale.
